What is Documenters? Tulsa Documenters is part of the national Documenters Network created by City Bureau to make local government more accessible and accountable.

We recruit, train and pay Tulsa residents to attend and take notes at public meetings like City Council sessions, committee meetings, and zoning hearings.

These meetings are where key local decisions are made, yet they often go uncovered and unnoticed. Documenters help fill that gap — earning up to $17/hour while receiving training, building skills and making public information available to everyone through fact-checked, published notes.

To get involved, fill out this interest form. We'll be in touch with information about upcoming orientations and next steps to becoming a Documenter!

Becoming a Tulsa Documenter is simple – register and attend an orientation!

This training will introduce you to the growing Tulsa Documenters community, starting with a walk-through of Documenters.org and our assignment workflow. You’ll practice core skills relevant to a range of assignments, learn about public meetings law and collaborate with fellow Documenters.

Upon completion of this workshop you will be able to take our Public Meetings quiz and apply for paid Tulsa Documenters assignments. You will also receive a “public meetings” badge on your Documenters.org profile page.
